What happens when people choose to show up.
The board started showing up. And once they started showing up they had to actually produce the results they had promised from the previous meeting.
Not because I made them. Because they were there. And being there made the commitment real in a way that an email or a phone call never does.
We started doing things. Real things. Events people wanted to attend. Programming people drove across South Jersey to be part of.
Word got out.
Over two years we grew the organization from eighty member companies to over two hundred and fifty.
Not through a membership drive. Not through a marketing campaign. Not through authority nobody had.
Through the conditions we built where showing up was worth something.
Eighty companies became two hundred and fifty because the people who showed up first made showing up worth it for everyone who came after.
Nobody gave us the authority to grow. We built the conditions where growth was the only natural outcome.
